The Accelerating Circularity Europe (ACPE) project is a European-based initiative by Accelerating Circularity, a non-profit organization set to catalyze new circular supply chains and business models in the textile industry, that works on researching, mapping, modelling and linking circular textile-to-textile systems. The consortium represents 80+ value chain members of the textile industry, including Inditex, Lenzing, Recover, Recyclatex Group, Zalando, DuPont Biomaterials, European Outdoor Group, GIZ, Gr3n and Reverse Resources.

Accelerating Circularity Europe

The project was kicked off in April 2022 and will end early 2024 by successfully completing textile-to-textile recycling trials for cellulosic and polyester textiles. Currently in the pilot phase, ACPE is pressure testing the circular systems of textile-to-textile recycling that were researched, mapped, modeled, and linked during 2021. For the cellulosic trials, cotton-rich post-consumer textiles are being recycled mechanically, whilst for the polyester trials polyester-rich textiles are being recycled chemically and thermo-mechanically into new fibers and yarns. Updates and insights will be shared through Accelerating Circularity’s LinkedIn and our LinkedIn page, as well as ACPE’s Website.
